Vickie Hill Landry, 67, of Orange, Texas, entered into her eternal home on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., October 1, 2022, at Community Church in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on February 9, 1955, Vickie was the daughter of George Harmon and Melba (Griffith) Wooden, and she attended school at Little Cypress Mauriceville. She was a member of Community Church, and for many years she organized the Day of Prayer on the steps of the courthouse. Vickie retired from Orange County Switchboard Operator and Information Booth, and she was a proficient nail technician for many years.
Vickie adored her boys and grandchildren. Family was her life, and her love for Jesus was undeniable. All who knew her knew she also loved Facebook! That is where she would witness with friends and she didn’t miss an opportunity to post a birthday wish along with a framed picture. Vickie had many talents, from creating flower arrangements that were perfection, to planning countless birthday parties for her husband Randy and sons Domnick and James. Her most favorite things were spending time with her family, sons, and grandkids. She, along with Randy, was the rock of the family. She was a friend, confidante, counselor, spiritual guide, heart and soul, angel on Earth and now our angel in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her life partner and friend, her beloved husband Randy Landry; father, George E. Harmon; mother, Melba Wooden; grandparents, Ed and Velma Spahr, Annie Harmon; and her dog, Roxy.
Vickie leaves the most precious memories to cherish with her loving sons, Domnick Landry and wife Tiffany, James Hill and wife Chasity; sister, Sandra Simpson and son Justin; brother, Jeff Harmon and wife Cris. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Brooklynn, Chloe, and Slade Landry, Brandin and Juniper Hill, Molly and Olivia Collier; three nephews, Brandon, Blake, and Benjamin Harmon; one niece, Gabby Harmon Welch; and great-niece Mattie.
Cremation will be held under the director of Claybar Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kingdom Zoo Wildlife Center at 2300 41st Street, Orange, Texas 77630, or to Community Church Missions Program at 3400 MLK Jr. Drive, Orange, Texas 77632.
