Thomas Miller

March 8, 1935 - February 1, 2022

Thomas T Miller passed away on February 1st, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., February 12, 2022, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. He was born in a tent, in Kilgore, TX on March 8, 1935, during the Kilgore oil boom to JB Miller and Ida Mae Miller. He graduated from Nederland High School in 1952. Thomas served in the Army National Guard of Texas from 1953 to 1961. He did his vocational training at Lamar College from 1954 to 1958. He was married to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Bobbie Lee McAnally, for 58 years before she passed on December 8, 2013. Tommy was a member of the Cowboy Church of Orange County. He was a Master Mason and an endowed lifetime member of the Madison Lodge #126, 32deg. Scottish Rite, York Rite Chapter and Council and Commandery Knight Templar. Tommy also spent 43 years as a member of the West Orange Volunteer Fire Dept as well as owning and operating West Orange Aquarium Shop for eleven years. Tommy was a Sheetmetal Journeyman in the local Sheetmetal Workers Union as well as the national union for 45 years and continued as a dues paying member until the time of his death. Tommy enjoyed collecting various collectibles and especially tools. He was a frequent visitor to many of Orange’s flea markets, garage sales and pawn shops during his hunt for stuff. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, JB Miller and Ida Mae Miller, sister Barbara Sue Isbell, son Thomas (Bert) Miller, Son In-Law Curtis Vickers, Son In-Law Dwight Williams, granddaughter Amanda Sharp and wife Bobbie. He is survived by his daughter Gwendolyn K Mathis and husband Glenn C. Mathis Jr. and Charlotte Anne Williams; grandsons David Roberts (Tiffany) Daniel Sharp (Amber) Timothy Sharp (Jordan) Michael Vickers (Chodi) Joseph Williams (Allison) Steven Williams (Mary); granddaughter Sheila Mathis Siefried (Michael); great granddaughter Nicole Roberts; and great grandsons Leyton Sharp, Bradly Roberts, Dustin Roberts, Cade Vickers, Owen Williams and Luke Williams.
