Terry Lee James, 62, of Orange, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 6, 2022.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend David Millner and his Uncle, Reverend John Elliott. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on June 11, 1959, he was the son of J.B. James and Jimmie Lou (Bingham) James. Terry was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was well known as a perfectionist and took a lot of pride in being a draftsman working at Matrix and RDS for the Richard Family. Terry enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending as much time as he could outdoors. He loved traveling with his wife and they visited all lower 48 states together. Terry got a thrill out of riding his Harley and working on Chevy’s. He accomplished his dream of designing and building his family’s home. Terry was very proud of his children and adored his grandchildren wholeheartedly. He lived a life well spent even after fighting through many medical battles and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmie Lou James; his grandparents, J.R. and Mertie Bingham and Medlene and Edward Elliott.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cora James; father, J.B. James of Orange; children, Amanda Hall and husband Steven of Port Neches, Haley Yaklin and husband Jody of Liberty Hill, Joshua James and wife Michelle of Orange, Jacob James and wife Alejandria of Mont Belvieu; grandchildren, Riley James, Heidi James, Gabriel Yaklin, Mason James, Lily Hall and Lorenzo James; siblings, Clint James and wife Geniva of Orangefield, David James and wife Melinda of Orange, Jerlyn Hoffpauir and husband Jimmy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; along with many other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Clint James, David James, Michael Brossette, Jeff Brossette, Steven Hall, and Jody Yaklin. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Riley James.
