Sue Ellen Ferguson

September 21, 1943 — December 23, 2020

Sue Ellen Ferguson, 77, passed peacefully on December 23, 2020 due to Covid complications. She was born on September 21, 1943 to Harold Rials and Mildred Gallien Allen in Orange, Texas. She attended Bridge City High School, where she met her future spouse, Texas Wayne Ferguson. They were married on September 8, 1962, after graduation. She gave birth to her son, Christopher Todd in 1963, and her daughter, Cindy Nicole in 1966. Her children grew up with a perpetual “room Mother”, PTA member, and all-around school activity supporter. “Suzy” loved to craft; she beaded ornaments, sewed pillows, decorated cakes, and made custom cards for family and friends. Sue was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange and St. Mary Altar Society. She volunteered for Orange County Friends, Orange Christian Services and often made Christmas cards for Orange Hospice. She ran a successful business selling crafts for several years. Suzy also loved card games and getting together with family and friends. Loving mother, faithful wife, and supportive grandmother, Suzy lived her life to please others, and took joy in it. She was never too busy to help anyone who asked.

A visitation for Sue will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., with a rosary at 9:30 a.m., and the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Sue was proceeded in death by her parents, Harold Rials and Mildred Gallien Allen; her custodial grandparents, Eddie and Alice Gallien; and sister Sharon Snow Stark. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wayne Ferguson; son, Chris Ferguson, wife Lisa, and their son Kylar; daughter, Cindy and her husband Pat Beebe, and their daughter Peyton; like-daughter, Martha and husband Brian Foley; brother Jerry Allen and wife Janice, Bobby Allen and wife Mary Ann; Doug Allen and wife Nancy; sister Jane and husband Leon Golemi; sister Ann and husband Keith Folsom; sister Nan and husband Randy Dillard. Suzy also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored. Suzy was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
