Shirley Evelyn Smith Barker, 85, died May 24, 2021 in Germfask Township, Michigan.
Mrs. Barker was born on March 13, 1936 in Hamlin, Texas. She was the daughter of Lawrence Harold Smith and Verby LaVerne Clay Smith. She was reared in Orange and moved to Pasadena, Texas in 1966. She retired from the city of Houston where she was a municipal court clerk. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to dance.
Mrs. Barker is survived by her daughter, Laura LaVerne Rivard; grandchildren, Mary Mayfield, Allen (Kristi) Rivard, Tia (Scott) Pense, Carla (Andrjia) Malbassa; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Smith and Charles L. Smith.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2021, at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
