Sheila Ilene Thompson, 66, of Beaumont, passed away on September 18, in Beaumont.
Memorial services will be determined later by the family.
Born in Port Arthur, on April 7, 1955, Sheila was the daughter of Marvin R. “Sonny” Hurst and Lois (Dorsey) Hurst. Sheila was an amazing mother and a firecracker of a woman with a smile that became her trademark. There were many ways to describe her to others, a devoted Catholic, a great cook, a nurturer, and the kindest person to cross paths with. Sheila was a lover of nature who enjoyed birdwatching and showing off her green thumb in her garden. Anything bright, shiny, or blingy was a signature look for Sheila. She loved spending time with her family, especially around the holidays. Sheila will be missed by all the lives she touched.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Sonny and Lois Hurst; sister, Deborah Hurst; and son, Joshie Thompson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Buddy Thompson; children, Gilbert “Trey” Flores III and wife Kandy of Tyler, Texas, Misty Milligan and husband Micheal of Lufkin, Shana Flores and Joseph Gomez of Beaumont, and Chad Flores of Beaumont; grandchildren, Riley, Austin, Sara, Olivia, Savannah, Logan; great grand children, Thiago and three on the way; siblings, Barbara Hurst Falk and partner Lee Biggs, Lisa Balsano and husband Randy; three furbabies, Harley, Junior, and Benji; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family would like to ask that everyone, in attendance for the memorial services, to wear something red in honor of Sheila.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
