Sandra Jean Ogden, 80, of China, Texas, passed away on April 16, 2021 in Beaumont.
Born in Dennison, Texas, on January 17, 1941, she was the daughter of Harold Bassham and Leota (Forisha) Bassham. Sandra was a longtime resident of Beaumont, Texas where she worked and raised her children, and most recently resided in China for the last several years. She retired from South Western Bell after 30 years of employment with the company. She was a single mother who raised her children all on her own. Sandra was everyone’s “Memaw” and she enjoyed always helping other people. She was funny but strong willed with a sharp tongue. Sandra adored her family more than anything and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Leota Bassham; and sister, Kathren Henry.
She is survived by her children, Charles David Ogden and wife Cynthia of China, Patti Cacioppo and husband James of Nederland, Ginger Taylor of Port Neches; grandchildren, Jessica Bergeron and husband Jonas, Casey Carrasco and husband Enrique, Amy Knott and husband Ryan, Jake Cacioppo and wife Michelle, Kelly Ogden and husband Ryan Cirilo, Tony Cacioppo and wife Caitlin, Kelsey Stokes and husband Billy, Zachary Taylor and Dylan Taylor; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Bassham ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Kelly Watkins Funeral Home.
