Roy Edward Kastner

Roy Edward Kastner, 84, of Silsbee, passed away on January 23, 2019, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A graveside service will be 1:30pm, Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin, Texas, 6300 W William Cannon Dr., Austin, TX 78749. Officiating will be Reverend David Jackson and Reverend Wayne Jackson.

Born in McDade, Texas, on September 6, 1934, he was the son of Cecil and Marie (Brown) Kastner. Roy worked in the construction industry for many years. He was the owner of R&R Reinforcing Inc. and retired as a security guard from Capitol Aggregates. He was elected “Boss of the Year” for the National Association of Women in Construction for 2 years. Roy loved to hunt and fish with his children and grandchildren. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very special man and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Marie Kastner.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Barbara Kastner; children, Roy Allen Kastner of Georgetown, Randy Cecil Kastner and Donna Saffell of Prairie Lea, Ronnie Gene Kastner and wife Georgian of Austin, Darla Straw of Silsbee, Mary Striver and husband, Kevin of Cedar Creek; adopted son, Gary Lee Plant, Jr. and Andrea Brown of Silsbee; grandchildren, Kristi Bordner, Roy Allen Kastner, Jr., Ronnie Gene Kastner, Jr., Rhonda Kastner, Joey Cobb, Jerry Kaye Cobb; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, David Kastner of Austin, Leona Schaefer and husband, Buster of Austin, and Raymond Kastner of The Phillipines; and many other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Kastner, Randy Kastner, Gary Plant, Jr., Ronnie Kastner, Jr., Kevin Stivers, Adam Santizo, and Aiden Plant.
