Ronnie Glen Burton

July 8, 1963 — August 10, 2019

Ronnie Glen Burton, age 56, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at his home in Vinton, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving wife and 3 fur babies. Ron was born in Orange, Texas on July 8, 1963 to Della Breaux Burton and Rufus Lee Burton, Sr.

Ron was a 1981 graduate of Orangefield High School and a 1983 graduate of Lamar University – Orange with an AAS in Drafting Technology. Ron began his career at The Cloeren Company and then moved to Bell Engineering where he was a loyal and dedicated employee for 23 years. Wanting to get further experience in his field, he went on to work for various others companies like CB&I, Modern EPC, ReCon Management and CDI.

Ron presently worked for Hargrove the last 3 ½ years as a Mechanical/Piping Designer and the PDMS/CAD Administrator, but his true talent and passion was that of Engineering Software. He was also a member of the corporate CAD Coordination team helping to standardize software and project procedures across the company, as well as keeping an eye on the future to ensure Hargrove was on the cutting edge of Technology. Ron was certified and accredited with many different software vendors, including Aveva, Intergraph, ECE Solutions, FARO Technologies and Leica.

Due to Ron’s easy-going nature and natural talent for technology, he made many friends in the business. He was a fan favorite at Software Conferences and always drew a crowd for his stories. In 2017, he was approached by FARO Technologies to use his experiences integrating Laser Scan data and Engineering software for successful project execution. FARO used this interview and PowerPoint as their presentation at Autodesk University that year. He was approached by Aveva in 2018 to speak at their Aveva World North American Conference after his success and partnership with BTP in Port Arthur utilizing Aveva E3D software and Laser Scanning. Clients also sought him out as well for his expertise in the realm of software. Whether it was converting a model from one format or another, or just calling to ask how he was able to solve a problem or issue they were having, Ron was always the go-to guy that you knew you could count on. Ron will be missed terribly by not only his Hargrove Teammates, but the Clients and Software Vendors who knew and worked with him so well.

Ron loved spending time at home with his wife Sheila cooking a great meal, working out in the yard, and sitting on the porch watching his fur babies run around the yard chasing squirrels. Ron looked forward to spending time with his family, especially at the Burton Thanksgiving gatherings each year at his brother’s place where he got to hunt with his nephews and others and spend time out in nature.

Ron will be remembered for the unconditional love he had for his wife Sheila, his ability to make everyone laugh, his God-given gift of giving whatever he had to help others in need, and his kind and gentle spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents Della Breaux Burton and Rufus Lee Burton, Sr.; and fur baby, Boon Chufus.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years Sheila Bellow Burton, brother R.L. Burton, Jr. and wife Tanya of St. Francisville, LA, sister Ann Moore and husband John of Frisco, TX, sister Kay Harrington and husband David of Clinton, MS, sister Melaine Toner and husband John of Rosevine, TX, sister Sue Bellard and husband David of Orange, TX, 10 nephews and nieces, 16 great nephews and nieces, 5 great-great nephews and nieces, countless cousins and extended family that adored him, and spoiled rotten fur babies Zeke, Zoey Belle, and Frannie Jo.
