Robert Grady Brown, 83, of Hartburg, passed away on December 9, 2020, in Beaumont.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2020, at King Cemetery in Hartburg. Officiating will be Mr. Jeff Kolar a beloved family friend & Jim Hamilton of Madison Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will begin prior to the service, at 1:30 p.m., at King Cemetery.

Born in Deweyville, Texas, on March 15, 1937, he was the son of Lonzo Robert “Bob” Brown and Pearl (Farris) Brown. Grady was a proud resident of Hartburg, where he resided for 79 years. He served bravely in the United States Army during the Korean war, working with communications. Grady was a Mason, a member of Teutonia Lodge 47 and a lifetime member of Madison Lodge, as well a 32nd degree El Mina Shriner, working as Kart Patrol, volunteering for parades & competitions. He was married to the love of his life, Linda and they spent a wonderful 21 years together. Grady was passionate about working on cars. In his younger years he was known for racing cars through the streets of Hartburg. Grady was a loving husband, father, and “Grandpa Grady”. He will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Pearl Brown; and numerous aunts & uncles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Brown of Hartburg; children, Mary Callahan and husband Larry of Mauriceville, Darlene Hughes and husband Robert of Little Cypress, Theresa Henry and husband Larry of Pinehurst, Renee Luker of Jacksonville, and Danny Anderson and wife Lori of Hartburg; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Darden, Robert Hughes, and his other Masonic brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc/donate or to the Madison Masonic Lodge of Orange at 3528 Masonic Dr. Orange, Texas 77630.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to grandson Chris Burch and wife Jennifer of Best Hospice and nurse Ryan Anderson for all their loving and compassionate care.
