Ramona Lea Cockerham

September 1, 1964 — August 16, 2020

Ramona Lea Cockerham, 55, of Orange, Texas, went home to be with loved ones on August 16, 2020, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Orange, on September 1, 1964, she was the daughter of Ramon Eugene Davis and Edith Mae (Lingo) Myers. Ramona was a member of The Eagles Club. She loved pink roses, adored her dachshunds, and enjoyed going out to dance, especially to Zydeco. Ramona was the most caring person you could meet. Although she did not have children of her own, she loved all kids and treated her nieces and nephews as her own, spoiling them rotten. Ramona was a dedicated wife to her late husband, Jerry, who she affectionately referred to as her “Puddin,” and loved him with all of her heart. She was a light to all those around her and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon Davis and Edith Myers; her beloved husband, Jerry Cockerham; and her brothers, Ramon “Gene” Davis, Ira Lee Davis, and Ramsey “Billy” Davis.

She is survived by her uncle, Carl David Lingo of Orange; her half-brothers, James “Larry” Gibson of Kirbyville and Raymond “Lee” Tynes of Lumberton; her sisters-in-law, Debra Richardson of San Antonio and Tammy Davis; her nieces and nephews, William Carroll Richardson, Dawn Sheree Richardson, Scotty Lee Richardson, all of San Antonio, Faithe Dianne Davis-Jordan of Pineville, Louisiana and Christian Nathanial Richardson of San Antonio; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you Ramona’s caregiver Mrs. Barbara Cormier and her great-grandson Noah Cormier for the loving care they provided, along with her best friend since childhood, Kim Lopez for the never-failing companionship she showed Ramona.

A private burial is under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Claybar Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
