Parnel Reed, 84, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 12, 2018, in Orange.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Father Steven Leger. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. during the visitation.

Born in Chatagnier, Louisiana, on August 31, 1933, she was the daughter of Walter Rozas and Eza (Soileau) Rozas. Parnel was a homemaker and owner of Mother Goose day care in Bridge City. She was a volunteer for many years with Orange Christian Services and with St. Henry Catholic Church Knights of Columbus during their Lenten fish fry’s. Parnel was a member of Lou-Tex Camping Club where she and Carl enjoyed travelling with their friends, and she was a member of St. Helen’s and St. Henry’s Catholic Churches. She will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 65 years, Carl Reed; and brother, Tim Rozas.

She is survived by her children, Craig A. Reed of Bridge City, Carlis A. Roy and husband Brad of Orange, Phyllis M. Schulz and husband Bruno of Orange, Donna R. Gray and husband Perry of Orange; grandchildren, Ashley Roy Bearden and husband Tyler, Morgan Hinds and husband David Jr., and Gavin Gray; great-grandchildren, Andie Bearden, Beckett Bearden, Ledger Hinds, and Knox Hinds; sister, Faye Massey and husband Charles G. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and brother, Raleigh Rozas and wife Denise of Tennessee.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Kay, Pearl, Mary Ann, Pam, and Miss Arlie for the loving care they provided to our mother and grandmother.
