Mary Louise Smith, 89, of Vidor, passed away on March 11, 2020, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bridge City.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Palestine, Texas, on December 7, 1930, she was the daughter of John and Sally Harris. Mary owned and operated, Mary Smith Draperies for many years. She was a very talented seamstress who loved to make quilts and crochet. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sally Harris; her loving husband, Jerry Smith; son, Bruce Luin Powell; sister, Joyce Galloway; and brother, John Harris.

She is survived by her sons, Virgil Powell and wife Romona of Vidor and James Smith and wife Sally of Huntsville; grandchildren, Brandy Powell, Julie Powell, Cheyenne Simpson, Bruce Powell, Billy Powell, Ricky Powell, Seth Smith, Shane Simpson, Brent King, and Brandon Revees; many great grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Laird of Albuquerque.
