Mary Louise Shipman Longmire

Mary Louise Shipman Longmire, 80, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 25, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Chip Anthony of North Orange Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on November 10, 1939, she was the daughter of Ralph Fairn Shipman and Mary Jane (Waggoner) Shipman. Mary was a devoted homemaker, raising five children until they were grown. She later worked as a department head for Walmart in Orange for 23 years before retiring. She was a longtime member of North Orange Baptist Church and always found great joy in attending. Mary also enjoyed crocheting and tending to her rose and vegetable gardens. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Shipman; her siblings, Joseph Shipman and Anna Joyce Robertson; and her grandson, Chris Longmire.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Dewie Longmire of Orange; her daughter, Linda D. Longmire Mouton and husband Cloyd W. Mouton, Jr. of Orange, and their children, Chrissie Leigh Mouton and Brian Cloyd Mouton, Chief Petty Officer, U.S.N. and his wife Sadie Mouton, and their children, William Cloyd Mouton and Jakob Dylan Mouton; her son, David Longmire and wife Phyllis Longmire of Shreveport, Louisiana, and their children, Eric Longmire and wife Mimi, Amber Longmire, and Gerald Longmire; her son, Michael Longmire of Orange and his child, Camrin Longmire; her son, Douglas Longmire and wife Debbie Longmire of Orange, and their children, Amanda Cook and husband Cameron, their child, Leanna Davidson, and their expected child, Cynthia Cook; Brandon Longmire and wife Alyssa; Jennifer Macha and husband Jeramy, and their children, Abigail and Maddy Macha; and Sean Longmire and wife Ciara; and her daughter, Jane Longmire Zahar and her child Zakri Zahar.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Longmire, Gerald Longmire, Zakri Zahar, Chrissie Mouton, Brandon Longmire, and Sean Longmire. Honorary pallbearer is Chief Petty Officer Brian Mouton.
