Mary Lou Dunivant Hebert

June 12, 1928 — December 5, 2020

Mary Lou Dunivant Hebert, 92, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on December 5, 2020, at her home.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a rosary at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Father Ernie Carpio. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on June 12, 1928, she was the daughter of Leve (Hebert) Bourgeois. Mary enjoyed cooking, bowling, golfing and more than anything, dancing. She never spoke an unkind word about anyone and surrounded her loved ones in positive affirmations and love. Mary dedicated her life to taking care of her family and was an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Mary will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and appreciate her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leve Bourgeois; her first husband, David Dunivant; her second husband, Theodore Hebert; three stepchildren, Michael Hebert, Owen Hebert, and Maurlene Lochamy; step-grandson, Travis Hebert; and her siblings, Earl Bourgeois, Lillie Harrison, Lula Johnson, Margaret Tedrick, Bessie Durke, and Hilda Ryherd Taylor.

She is survived by her sons, David M. Dunivant and wife Pam of Beaumont and Jody L. Dunivant and life partner Edgar Vesga of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her granddaughter, Caris S. Vernon and husband Richard of Pearland; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Pierce Vernon; stepchildren, Mary Ellen Hebert of Bridge City, Adrian Hebert of Bridge City, Carmel Williams and husband Mark of Bridge City, Liz Boren and husband Kenneth of Tyler, and Melanie Bellard and husband Harvey of Bridge City; 15 step-grandchildren; 30 step-great-grandchildren; and step-daughters-in-law, Margie Hebert and Sherry Hebert, both of Bridge City.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Williams, Eric Hinton, Daniel Begnaud, Caleb Johnson, Christopher Bellard, Darrin Smith and Adrian Hebert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org .
