Mary Elder Allensworth

December 1, 1938 - February 20, 2022

Mary Elder Allensworth of Warren, Texas, passed away on February 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a wonderful mother, loving and devoted wife, sister, caregiver, friend and fun grandmother. She has the most generous giving heart and was always touching others with her presence. A celebration of life graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 28, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Mary was born 83 years ago in New Albany Mississippi. She was married to the love of her life, David Allensworth for 67 years. Mary is survived by her son, Richard Allensworth and wife Julie of Orange; three daughters, Vickie Thibodeaux and husband Paul of Warren, Lisa Willis and husband Steve of Bridge City and Paige Griffin and husband Glenn of Warren; six grandsons, Chris and Josh Willis, Travis and Hunter Griffin, Jake Thibodeaux and Brandon Allensworth; one granddaughter, Alyssa Allensworth; as well as seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, David Allensworth and her parents, Grover Cleveland Elder and Opal Irene Lee Elder her brothers Larry and Junior and sisters, Frances, June, Tanna, Martha, and Sara. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chris Willis, Josh Willis, Travis Griffin, Hunter Griffin, Jake Thibodeaux and Brandon Allensworth.
