Linda taught at Burleson Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas from 1977-1978. Linda then taught at Timbers Elementary School in the Humble Independent School District. She was honored by being selected Teacher of the year (1993-1994) at Timbers Elementary School. She was also one of the five finalists for Teacher of the year (1993-1994) for the Humble Independent School District. She continued teaching at Timbers Elementary School until her retirement in 2009 after which she continued to teach as a substitute teacher for eleven more years. She made many lifelong friends during her career. Linda was a member of A Course in Miracle (ACIM) and made many lasting friendships. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Irma Hitchings; and her grandparents, Ellis Ray Hitchings and Inez Young Hitchings, Ernest Beaty and Lydia Alston Beaty.
