Visitation will start at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Cowboy Church of Orange County. All funeral arrangements are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on February 4, 1975, she was the daughter of Kenneth Eugene Bogle and Rita Wyann (Boles) Parish.

Though born in Louisiana, Kristie was raised in Texas, specifically Mauriceville. It was in this small town that her caring nature and lively personality made the biggest impact on those that loved her. Kristie attended grade school at McLewis and Mauriceville, graduating from LC-M High School in the Class of 1993. Her grade school years proved to be the beginning of numerous relationships that would endure the test of time. One of these relationships was with her high school sweetheart, Chris, that she went on to marry and build a family.

Kristie’s desire to care for others lead to her becoming a nurse. As a nurse she would serve her community and gained a reputation for “giving the best shots” to those under her care. Most recently, she worked as a substitute nurse at many of the local schools.

To say that she had a love for all things rodeo would be an understatement. Kristie spent her free time caring for animals and attending rodeo events. She would instill this passion into her children.

Kristie’s personality was a mix of playful mischief and sarcasm.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Bogle; parents-in-law, Ralph and Ann Sowell; grandmother, Elma Bogle; grandparents, Alvis and Sue Boles; and her Angel Baby.

She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Chris Sowell; children, Kolbie Todd Sowell and Kyleigh Jo Sowell; parents Wyann and Mike Parish, all of Mauriceville, Texas; siblings, Kim Kennedy and husband Scott of Justin, Texas, Karol Gray of Huxley, Texas, Michelle Barrow and husband Bric of Newton, Texas, Mitchel Parish and Casey Hooker of Mauriceville, Texas; “adopted brother”, Todd Langston of Mauriceville, Texas; niece and nephews, Elyssa, Ethan, Chance, Zane, Chett, and Trace; and many other beloved family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mitchel Parish, Ethan Howell, Todd Langston, Brent Peveto, Larry O’Rear, and Todd Comeaux.

Honorary pallbearers are Mack O’Rear and Chance Gray.

In memory of Kristie Bogle Sowell the family has asked that any monetary donations be sent to Cowboy Church of Orange County Youth Ministry at 673 FM 1078 Orange, Texas 77632.
