John Riling

John Riling, 87, of Tomball, Texas, passed away on November 9, 2018, in Cypress, Texas.

A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Officiating will be Scott Riling.

Born in Layland, West Virginia, on June 12, 1931, he was the son of Raymond J. Riling and Bernice T. (Kincaid) Riling. John honorably served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He went on to work as an accountant for Firestone, Sabine Bank – Port Arthur, and eventually retired from Gulf Credit Union as the CEO. John was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church. He served the church as a deacon and was church treasurer for many years. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bernice Riling; his loving wife, Bernice Riling; and his brother, Elvin Riling.

He is survived by his son, Scott Riling; his grandchildren, Sophie Rosetsky and husband Rodrigo, Morgan Riling, Matthew Riling, and Cloe Riling; great-granddaughter, Ruthie Rosetsky; and his brother, Delma Lee Riling.
