John Henry Knight Jr.

John Henry Knight, Jr., 75, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 20, 2018, in Bridge City.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Doug Shows. Cremation and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on July 13, 1943, he was the son of John Henry Knight, Sr. and Evelyn (Harper) Knight. John honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, during the Vietnam War. He was a POW for two years while in Cambodia. John was a retired Iron Worker for Local 125. He was a Godly man, attended Bridge City First Baptist Church, and held his family near and dear to his heart. John was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and loved Christmas time. He could be remembered for his heart of gold, and the way he was always making everyone around him laugh with his Aggie jokes. John will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Evelyn Knight; first wife of 48 years, Ida Knight; and sister-in-law, Cindy Durham.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Knight; children, John B. Knight of Galveston, Texas, Kris Knight of Bridge City, Texas, and Tina Landin and husband Chris of Vidor, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Knight, Maddison Saenz and Kaya Sanders; brother, Tommy Knight of Beaumont, Texas; sister-in-law, Lori Saenz and husband Michael of Houston, Texas; and good friends, Jan and Doris Duke.
