John Christopher Bounds “Beau”, 64, of Silsbee, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at, St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Beaumont.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on November 6, 1956, he was the son of Jimmie Isaac Bounds and Ollie Marilyn Jeffers. John was a very creative, intelligent, and wise man. He built motorcycles from the ground up, painting and designing them as well, and he built hotrods. He also played guitar later becoming a luthier building and customizing beautiful guitars. John loved fishing and spending time with his family. John was a good husband, dad, sibling, and “Pawpaw Honeybun” and a comedian. He will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. His word to console was “Above those gray clouds is a blue sky.
John was a associated with the Jehovah Witness religion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Bounds and Ollie Goodman; step-mom, Ruth Bounds; brother, William “Bill” Bounds; many other cherished loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joyce Bounds; children, Laura Bounds Finley, Christi Bounds Mathies and husband Andrew, Billy Bounds, David Kingery and wife Katie; grandchildren, Brett and wife Megan, Victoria and fiancé Drew, Dylan and fiancé Elana, Aubree, Adelynn, Greyson, Lyla, Alexander, Ethan, and Finn; great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Elise; brother, Gary Bounds and wife Valerie; sisters, Judy Cormier and husband Rodney, Janet Germack; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial with the family will be held at a later date.
