Jesse Goodman

April 21, 1946 — March 26, 2020

Jesse F. Goodman, 73, of Mauriceville, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on March 26, 2020, in Beaumont.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on April 21, 1946, he was the son of Arthur Goodman and Gloria (Gould) Goodman. Jesse honorably served his country in the Air Force and the Army National Guard - continuing to maintain a high regard for Veterans throughout his lifetime. He worked as an Instrumentation Technician at Texaco, Star Enterprise, Shell, and Motiva for over 30 years. He was a member of IBEW Local 390 and 2286. Jesse was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Groves, always displaying his servant’s heart. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, and spending his time on the lake- even passing on his love and knowledge of fishing to his grandchildren. Whenever the opportunity arose, Jesse was the first one to lend a helping hand. He never sugar coated things but everything that came out of his mouth came from a good place, only meant to aide you in whatever you sought. Whenever his family and friends reflect on Jesse’s life they always remember him taking charge and always being a decisive man, knowing exactly what he wanted out of life. Jesse will be dearly missed by everyone who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cade Wright; parents, Arthur and Gloria Goodman; brothers, James Bennett, Shelley Walker and Arthur Goodman.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Seaux and husband Sean of Port Neches, Billy Goodman and wife Amber of Nederland and Paula Ryder and husband Brett of Port Neches; grandchildren, Hannah Richardson, Callie Wright, Josh Wright, Austin Seaux, Brendan Goodman, Bryce Goodman, Ethan Varnado, Haden Ryder, Haley Ryder, and Hope Ryder; step-children, Traci Cast and husband Robert of Mauriceville and Eric Quebedeaux and wife Atasha of Vidor; step-grandchildren, Christian Quebedeaux, Erica Quebedeaux, Christopher Cast, and Airik Cast; and sisters, Liz Stewart of Groves, and Pat Jaetzold and husband Calvin of Sulphur, Louisiana; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
