Jeffery “Jeff’ Joe Daigle, 54, of Bridge City, passed away on February 6, 2021, at his home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Sherman, Texas, on June 15, 1965, he was the son of Merlin Jude Daigle and Barbarine Rena (Huth) Daigle. Jeff was a decorated fireman who bravely served his community. Prior to his time working for the Fire Department he served in the United States Army, where he was awarded numerous badges, medals and honors for his service and bravery while rising to the rank of Sergeant. He graduated from Lamar Universities Fire Acadamy in 1991 and began his career as a firefighter with the Baytown Fire Department. During his time as a firefighter, he earned numerous awards including the Medal of Valor in 2004 for his bravery during a house fire, the Medal of Merit in 2014 for actions taken during a shrimp boat rescue, the Medal of Merit in 2015 for actions taken at a rescue in a structure fire, the Medal of Merit for actions taken during a Swiftwater rescue during Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and was named the Baytown Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 “Firefighter of the Year”. All in all Jeff dedicated 30 years of his life serving the city of Baytown and had a tremendous impact on all those in his community. Jeff will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Barbarine Daigle; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his brother, Steve Daigle and wife Kelle of Humble; niece, Allison Faulk; and uncles, Harold Huth and wife Jeanette of Cypress, Mike DuRouen and wife Dianne of Bridge City.
