James Tingle

James Tingle
James Tingle, 94, of Buna, passed away on September 5, 2019, at home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeremy Walton of New Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Coushatta, Louisiana, on November 9, 1924, he was the son of George Tingle and Lula (Murphy) Tingle. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 30 years. He was in WW2, Korea, served on USS Oriskini, and was stationed mostly in Japan. After his time in the military he worked as a medic at Livingston shipyard and Brown and Root. James retired from the Port of Orange as a security guard.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Caroline Tingle.

He is survived by his children, Ginny Rae Jenson of North Dakota, Kimberly Butler, Lisa Cooper both of Gist, Texas, and step daughter Kris Reeves of California; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Horace Tingle, Lori Tingle, Allie Behagey, and Ina Warren.
