James "Jimmy" Ross Fregia

James "Jimmy" Ross Fregia, 86, of Bridge City, passed away on September 7, 2021, in Beaumont.

Born in Liberty, Texas, on July 25, 1935, he was the son of Velia Robert Fregia and Elizabeth Fregia. James loved to sing and had an incredible voice. Through his voice and ministry, he carried his love of God to all those around him, including those at church and through leading praise at Jail Ministry in Liberty. He served bravely in the United States Army for a number of years. James loved sports especially softball, playing into his 60s. He expressed his art through many avenues such a carpentry, writing, and storytelling. James was the most wonderful father and grandfather, doing everything he could to make his family happy and proud. He lived for the thrill of a good adrenaline rush as a bull riding and even performed as a trackstar in his younger years. James was a member of his neighborhood “Parkland Circle Muskateers”, and served as “Mayor of Parkland Circle”. James touched many lives during his time on earth and will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Velia and Elizabeth Fregia; siblings; and nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Pam Fregia; children, Lonnie Lynn Fregia and wife Debra of Daisetta and Ona Beth Day and husband Craig; step-children, Jesse Stuart Varnon and wife Melissa of Liberty and Tacie Hoyt and husband Terry of Groves; grandbabies that he raised and loved as his own children, Hannah Renee Varnon and Arabella Victoria Varnon; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.
