A homegoing celebration for Griffin H. Warren, 88, of Beaumont, Texas will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Zwolle with Rev. Cky Carrigan and Rev. Adam Carrigan officiating. Burial will follow in the Zwolle City Cemetery. An additional homegoing celebration will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Westgate Memorial Baptist Church of Beaumont, Texas.
Griff was born on Tuesday, February 28, 1933, in Memphis, TN. He passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, in Beaumont, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Velma (Lowrance) Warren; brother, Stan Warren; and sister, Norma Warren Teekell and husband Lloyd; and sisters-in-law, Jackie Bray Teasley and husband Max, and Carolyn Sue Bray Carrigan and husband Carl.
Griff is survived by his wife Edie Bray Warren and son Michael W. Warren of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Jo Ann Warren Barringer and husband Harry; sister-in-law Peggy Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and friends.
Griff was always the oldest kid in the room, often entertaining with his magic tricks. He was great with people. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved his family dearly and provided for them well. And, he loved his sports and games. He was an avid and skilled tennis player and golfer. And, you could always count on him to instigate, or join, a game of some kind, and he played to win. Griff was also extremely generous to family and friends alike. Griff’s love, life, and work made his little corner of the world a better place, and certainly more fun. To God be the Glory!
