Gordon Leigh Brown

Gordon Leigh Brown, 86, of Kirbyville, Texas passed away on August 11, 2020, in Orange, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor George Gau of Turning Point Church in Vidor. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Inglewood, California, on May 10, 1934, he was the son of John Herbert Brown and Edna Miller (Cook) Hiibel. Gordon proudly served his county in the United States Army during the Korean War. He went on to work as a craftsman for Firestone for many years. Gordon had a passion for cars. He enjoyed collecting model cars and working on old cars. He also loved his tractor and traveling in his motor home. Gordon was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Brown and wife Lillian; mother, Edna Hiibel and husband Phil; sister, Sharon Cantrell-Bailey; grandson, Glen Thomas Brown, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Adley Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Mae Brown; children, Sherry Leigh Murdock and husband John, Keith Gordon Brown, Kenneth Ray Brown and wife Norma, and Glen Thomas Brown, Sr. and wife Darlene; grandchildren, Joaney Leigh Shearer and husband Chris, Jenny Elizabeth Stidham and husband Jerid, Brandon Ray Brown and Jamie, Tiffany Marie Jarrett and husband Jonathan, Hope Nicole Graffagnino and husband Grant, and Matthew Aaron Brown and wife Kelle; 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gerald Brown, and Richard Bailey and wife Judy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Brown, Kenneth Brown, Brandon Brown, Matthew Brown, Carmichael Wiley, Nicholas Harvey, and Trevor Lingenfelter.
