Gladys Yvonne Daire, 91, of Bridge City, passed away on July 7, 2021, in Bridge City.
Born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on July 30, 1929, she was the daughter of Henry F. Brown and Anna (Gaarder) Brown. Gladys worked as a nurse for Park Place Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital and retired after 25 years of dedicated work. Gladys loved to spend time with her family and adored her grandchildren who referred to her as “Nana”. She was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake. Gladys will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Brown; husband, John “Buster” Daire; son, Harold Paul Daire; sister, Beverly Smith; and brothers, Richard Brown and Ray Brown.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Parker of Bridge City and Becky Tschirhart and husband Mike of Beaumont; grandchildren, Michael Allen Tschirhart and wife Jamie and Lance Andrew Tschirhart; great-grandchildren, Anneliese, Buster, Theresa and Thomas; and sister-in-law, Lilia Brown; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tammy Swan, Gladys’ caregiver for her loving care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Southeast Texas Hospice at 912 W. Cherry Ave. Orange, Texas 77630.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
