Freddie C. Howard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Freddie Charles Howard, 79, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on August 1, 2022, in Orange, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2022, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating the Mass will be Reverend Michael Strother. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Born in Leesville, Louisiana, on November 27, 1942, he was the son of Tony Howard and Opal (Beedle) Howard. Freddie proudly served his country in the United States Army before going on to spend many loyal years as an Operator for Lyondal Equistar. He was a faithful man and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus, and a former member of St. Helen Catholic Church. After retiring, Freddie enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting, but most of all being a “Paw Paw” and playing with his grandkids every chance he got. He was a very loving and selfless man, always putting others before himself. Freddie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Opal Howard; his daughter, Tammie Dubose; grandson, Colton Allison; brothers, Plaz Howard and Daniel Howard; and his sister, Benny James. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Howard; daughters, Melissa Elizondo and husband Rudy, of Schertz, TX, Michelle Garcia, of Bridge City, TX, and Tracy Allison, of Angleton, TX; grandchildren, Tony Garcia, Dustin Dubose and wife Leah, Tina Arias and husband Stephen, Jacob Howard and wife Summer, Becky Limon and husband Ben, Sierra Gonzalez and husband Raul, Taylor Allison and wife Nicole, Chad Allison, and Macy Allison; ten great-grandchildren; and his brother, Earl Howard, of Tulsa, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Garcia, Dustin Dubose, Jacob Howard, Stephen Arias, Raul Gonzalez, and Richard Howard. Honorary pallbearer is Joey Roberts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Freddie’s honor to the Make A Wish Foundation or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
