Ferdie James Fuselier

Ferdie James Fuselier, 86, of Bridge City, passed away on June 28, 2021, in Houston.

Private family services will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.

Born in Eunice, Louisiana, on November 15, 1934, he was the son of Maurice Fuselier and Pauline (Fontenot) Fuselier. Ferdie proudly and honorably served his county in the United States Army in Korea for 2 years. He attended Arizona Barber College and later opened his own shop called Fred’s Barber Shop in Port Arthur where he was a Barber for 42 years. Ferdie loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and even water skiing. He was the best listener and enjoyed visiting with his neighbors. He adored his wife, Barbara whom he met in the 5th grade. She was his best friend and they loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. Ferdie made an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. “He did his best and God did the Rest.”

He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Pauline Fuselier; and son, Torry James Fuselier.

He is survived by the love of his life of 65 years, Barbara Fuselier; children, Julie Prosperie and husband Danny and Paula Hall and husband John all of Bridge City; grandchildren, Melanie Guest and husband Ryan, Kyle Prosperie, Hannah Hall, and Jonah Hall; and great grandchildren, Avery Guest and Ayden Guest.
