Elton Ray Goins Jr., 63, of Lumberton, passed away on Monday February 15, 2021 at, his home, in Lumberton.
Born in Kountze, Texas on July 4, 1957, he was the son of Elton Ray Goins Sr., and Vivian (Wright) Goins. Elton was a hardworking man being in the Oil Field for many years. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Goins for 41 amazing years. He loved to hunt and shoot his guns, target shooting being one of his favorite pastimes. Elton obtained his dream car, a ’66 Chevelle, a few years ago and spent all his free time restoring her to her former glory. He was a kind man who touched all who met him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Vivian Goins; and brother, James Goins Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Goins; sisters, Pam Pope and husband Lonnie Sr., of Crystal Beach, Debbie Rogers and husband Arnold, of Lumberton; and his nieces and nephews.
Elton’s last wish was that everyone would take a minute and have a drink in his honor.
