Dorothy Lousie Grappe Dans

Dorothy Louise Dans, 89, of Orange, passed away on April 7, 2021, in Tyler.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 11, at First Baptist Church in Deweyville. Officiating will be Reverend Damon Bickham and Reverend Stephen Hudnall. Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Hartburg.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, at First Baptist Church in Deweyville.

Born in Oil City, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Adolph Louis Grappe and Stella Mae (Banks) Grappe. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker for 34 years and later went on to work as an insurance agent, retiring after many years. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Tabernacle in Hartburg and loved spending time reading her bible. Dorothy was a kind soul who adored her family more than anything and never missed a moment to spend time with them. She enjoyed fishing, watching sports, old westerns, and crocheting. Dorothy left an impact on many lives and was known to never meet a stranger. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse Dans; parents, Adolph and Stella Grappe; sister, Bessie Brown; and daughter in law, Mory Dans.

She is survived by her children, Steven Louis Dans and wife Joyce Kay of West Monroe, LA, Phillip Ray Dans of Deweyville, Russell Jay Dans of Denham Springs, LA, Dennis Calvin Dans and wife Micháel of Summerfield, LA, Kelly Markham Dans of West Monroe, LA, Jesse Brian Dans and wife Cindy of Deweyville, Darryl Andrew Dans and wife Kimberlie of Gladewater, and Julie Ann Guidry and husband Wayne of Longview; grandchildren, Nathan, Cristal, Rebekah, Lucretia, Cody, Jesse, Rachel, Jessica, Amanda, Lacey, Kendall, Kenneth, Katie, Dannielle, Madison, Morgan, Mackenzi, Dylan, Zachary, Sydney, Roman, and Ruben; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Mary David Ellison of Kountze; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be her sons, Steven Dans, Phillip Dans, Jay Dans, Dennis Dans, Kelly Dans, Brian Dans, and Darryl Dans. Honorary pallbearers are Dylan Gruber, Zach Wellons, and Roman Guidry.
