Donell “Don” Ray Yocham, 71, of Orange, passed away on April 6, 2020, at his home.
Born in Turlock, California, on August 23, 1948, he was the son of Dearl George Yocham and Velma Virginia (Moore) Yocham. Referred to lovingly by his friends and family ‘Donny D’ or ‘Daddio’, his daughters were his pride and joy and to them he was their hero, best friend, and greatest teacher & mentor. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army. Don was a mechanic working in the oil fields and construction, retiring from Chevron after over 16 years of hard work. He could fix anything and was an avid lover of all things Harley Davidson. Above all else, his daughters and grandchildren were his whole world, and he would go to the ends of the earth for any one of them. Don will be so deeply missed by all those who came to know and love him. He was strong, courageous and a fighter until the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dearl and Velma Yocham; sister, Alice Casey; and brother, Dean Yocham.
He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Yocham and husband Mickey Brones of Orangefield, Jennessa Patton and husband Jason of Orange, and Jennifer Buckner and husband William of Vidor; grandchildren, Colton Boudreaux, Kayden Buckner, Scarlett Patton; sisters, Carol Yocham and Virginia Doyle, both of Oklahoma; and the mother of his children, Barbara Yocham of Bridge City; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Texas Avenue Tavern in Bridge City, Texas with military honors following at 4:00 p.m.
