Donald Eugene Johnson, 83, of Beaumont, passed away on April 14, 2020, in Houston.
Born in Bracketville, Texas, on August 19, 1937, he was the son of William Harry Johnson and Viola (Woomer) Johnson. Donald grew up with a military upbringing and gained respect for the Armed Forces at a very young age. He bravely served his country in the Navy, and later went to college for Diesel Mechanics. Mr. Johnson loved to race cars when he was younger. Donald was a very hard worker. He could never sit in one place for too long he always needed to be doing something. Donald met the love of his life, JoAnn in 1965 through mutual friends and quickly fell in love. Together they built a life and a family they loved. Donald’s favorite memories were made visiting his lake house in Sam Rayburn with his family. He will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Viola Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, JoAnn Johnson; their children, Jeffrey Johnson and wife Pamela, Jerry Johnson, and Jacob Johnson and wife Kristan; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
