Donald Overton Ickles

Donald Overton Ickles, 79, of Bridge City, passed away on November 3, 2021, in Port Arthur.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Resthaven Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Charky Marquis. Burial will follow.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on October 1, 1942, he was the son of John Edward Ickles, Sr. and Helen (Kirk) Ickles. Donald served bravely in the United States Navy. He retired as mechanic from DuPont Sabine River Works and was a member of the Fire Brigade at DuPont. Donald was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed making his way to hunt any chance he got. He loved playing pool and was a talented woodworker. Donald will be deeply missed by all those he met during his walk of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Ickles; loving wife of 43 years, Jean Ickles; and son, Donald Robert Ickles
He is survived by his son, Billy Ray Brown and his special friend, Jessica Thomas; grandchild, Blaine Brown; and brother, Dan Ickles and wife Pat.
