Born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on November 23, 1947, Debra was the daughter of Raymond Lemoine and Dorothy (Guillory) Blessitt. She worked very hard all her life and retired after dedicating many years to the Health and Human Services Commission. She worked for Child Protective Services as a Human Service Tech aiding in foster care. Prior to that she worked in various nursing home facilities as a nurse’s aide and a medication tech. Her working career demonstrated her heart for people. She loved working and made many friends she considered family.

Debra had an immense love for the Lord and made her church home at First Baptist Church in Deweyville where she was also baptized on an Easter Sunday.

She was admired by many for her dynamic personality and her witty sense of humor. She loved to cook with her specialty being Cajun cuisine. She was known best for her homemade gumbo, crawfish dressing, and the most unique and tasty cabbage. Debra was simple…. she loved family gatherings, good music, and good friends. She had three best friends in her life all named Sharon that she cherished. Her family described her as a selfless mother who was always willing to do without for her children. Debra will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Lemoine and Dorothy Blessitt; and her son, Kevin Mazzagate.

She is survived by her loving children, Trisha Kemp and husband Bryan, and Ray Granger and wife Stormy, all of Orange; her grandchildren, Megan Burenstam-Linder and husband Gustaf of The Netherlands, Cameron Kemp of Orange, and Ciera Pattie of Beaumont; as well as her brother, Richard Lemoine of Houston.
