Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 29, 1942, she was the daughter of Henry Edward Bowden and Mary Louise Bowden (Kenny). Claudia lived her life on her own terms, her tenacity and big heart helped her to overcome adversity in her childhood and grew into a naturally beautiful independent woman. Claudia was never boring to be around her, ask anyone who knew her. She was always quick to laugh or fight. Claudia’s idea of a good day was having a lunch and shopping date with her best friend Charlotte. She loved to play games like battleship, her son-in-law found out the hard way not to play with her without her hearing aids, it made for a very long game with no winner. Claudia’s first career was a housewife and mother, then when her children were young, she proudly acquired her Beautician’s license. She had many interests and hobbies over the years, photography, motorcycles, traveling, and floral design being a few. Claudia was a brave woman; she was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Alden Sager; parents Edward Bowden and Mary Louise Kenny; and siblings, Michael Leigh Stubs, Thomas McKey Bowden, Christopher Dana Bowden.

She leaves behind the second love of her life, her dog Tyler; son, Scott Alden Sager, of Beaumont; daughter, Debra Lynn Singletary, of Point Blank, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Elijah Singletary, of Kingwood, Daniel Isaiah Singletary, of Kingwood; great-grandchildren, Soteria, Caroline, Kingsley, Baron, Vesper; and siblings, Kenny Edward Bowden, of Morgan, Texas, Paul Bowden, of Freistatt, Missouri, Eddy Lou Rodgers, of Gainesville, Texas, Virginia Elizabeth Langston, of Plano, Texas, Timothy Joseph Bowden, of Dawsonville, Georgia, and Eddie Bowden Jr., of Orange, Texas.
