Bernice May Baker Snell

January 26, 1938 - November 26, 2021

Bernice May Baker Snell, 83, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 26, 2021, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Visitation will be at Claybar Funeral Home located at 800 Highland Dr., Bridge City, Texas 77611 on December 5, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be her grandson, Larry Spears, Jr. Bernice Snell was born on January 26, 1938 in Amity, New York. In 1956 she married the love of her life, Sheldon Snell and later moved to Bridge City, Texas in 1979, where Bernice worked for the Bridge City Independent School District. Preceded in death is her loving husband of 57 years, Sheldon Lee Snell; parents, Lawrence T. Baker and Helen Ford; sisters, Lucille Cornish, Sally Baker, Mary Springfield, Alma Shout, and Glenna Baker; brothers, Lawrence Baker, Ralph Baker and David Baker. She is survived by her sister, Esther Canute; brother, William Springfield; her five children, Sheldon and Julia Snell, Darlene Darby, Stacy and Heather Snell, Ginny and Ron Denham, Steven Snell; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by those that knew her.
