Myrtle Johnson Haney

October 19, 1909 — December 1, 2008

Myrtle Johnson Haney, 99, of Orange, died on December 1, 2008. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bridge City, TX. The Reverend Bob Boone of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside service will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Sulphur, LA at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, TX.

Mrs. Haney was born on October 19, 1909, near Bunkie, LA. to Walter Edward Buie and Mabel Roberts Buie. She was a teacher in the Calcasieu Parish Schools for 29 years and worked at Care Help in Sulphur. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridge City and the Louisiana Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her husbands; J. Sam Johnson and Cecil Haney and her sister, Katherine Smith.
She is survived by her daughter Nelda Kressman and husband, Fred of Bridge City and grandchildren; Robin Stout and husband Jack and Ross Kressman and wife Claudine; great-grandchildren; Aaron Stout, Cameron Stout, Katelyn Stout and Kyle Kressman. She also leaves a sister, Doris Buie of Orange, and nephews and niece; J.B. Smith, Kendall Smith and Glenda Owens Reynolds.

Pallbearers will be Ross Kressman, Jack Stout, Aaron Stout, Cameron Stout and Kyle Kressman.
