Ruth "Bootsie" Mae Walker

Ruth “Bootsie” Mae Walker, 88, of Bridge City, passed away on November 15, 2014, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Bunch of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Silsbee, Texas, on November 5, 1926, she was the daughter of William Manning and Margaret Ann (McLanathan) Zeagler. She was a very accomplished homemaker who was able to turn any situation into a positive one. Becoming a talented cook, seamstress, master quilter and gardener were a few of her many accomplishments. She was also the owner and operator of the Gulf cafeteria; studied and worked as a travel agent at Jack Tarr and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Zeagler; and her husband of 58 years, Bobby Joe Walker.

She is survived by her children, Richard Walker and wife, Linda of Bridge City, Judy Hymel and husband, Kenneth of Bellville, Bobbie Lemoine and husband, A J. of Port Arthur, and Becky Jones of Beaumont; seven grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Opal Hogan of Kirbyville and Nita Colleps and husband, Dale of Beaumont; sister-in-law, Kate Russell of Beaumont and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Walker, Judy Hymel, Bobbie Lemoine, A.J. Lemoine, Jr., Bryson Brittain and Peter Wisniewski. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Colleps, Roger Hogan and Ken Hymel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1155 W Roundbunch Rd, Bridge City, TX 776911.

The family would like to thank, Dr. Satir, Dr. Daniel Harris, the nurses of Harbor Hospice, especially, Ray, Jackie, Annette and Judy. Also, this journey would not be complete if not for the love and support of Linda Walker and A.J. Lemoine, Jr.
