Marjorie Ann Sanford

Marjorie “Margie” Ann Sanford, 84, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on February 20, 2018, in Port Arthur, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Mark Bunch of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Mesilla Park, New Mexico, on May 13, 1933, she was the daughter of George W. Hay and Edith (McDowell) Hay. Margie worked as an administrative assistant for Orange County for 22 years. She was a member and past president of Riparian BPW, an organist at Park Avenue Methodist Church, and a member of United Methodist Woman and Lutcher Service Guild. Margie was an excellent pianist and enjoyed crosswords puzzles, her violets, and animals. She was an incredibly loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Edith Hay; her loving husband, James R. Sanford; daughters, Michelle Anderson and Lisa Sanford Costilla; great-granddaughter, Ashley Cammack; and son-in-law, James Martin.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Martin of Bridge City; son, Mark Sanford and wife Julie of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Marc Musemeche and wife Pat, Cheri Hazi, Melanie Claybar and husband Joey, Jessica Thomas and husband Grant, Joshua Anderson and wife Jenni, Meghan Sanford, and Felecia Martin and Justin Turner; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, John H. Hay and wife Norma Jo; and sons-in-law, Benny Anderson and Ray Costilla.
