Leonard Chatagnier

Leonard Ray Chatagnier, 80, of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2017, at his home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Mauriceville. Officiating will be Father Delphyn Meeks. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. with a wake service at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on June 18, 1937, he was the son of Nolan P. Chatagnier and Lou Ann Chatagnier. Leonard loved his wife deeply and was an excellent family provider. He was a brilliant chemical engineer who not only enjoyed his job, but excelled in his career. In his free time he enjoyed golf and gardening, and was also one of the organizers of the Pony Baseball League for Boys (BCYRA) in 1978. Leonard had an impact on everyone he met, and will be thoroughly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Chatagnier; his parents Nolan and Lou Ann Chatagnier; his son, David Chatagnier; and his sister Patsy Chatagnier.

He is survived by his daughters, Tina Chatagnier, Cheryl Chatagnier-Sterling and Mindy Wix; grandchildren, Jessica Griffin and husband Drew, Tony Chatagnier and wife Molly, Megan Pounders and wife Amy, Miranda Gallagher and wife Rebecca, David Arabie, and Nicole Wix; great great grandchildren, Caden, Kendall, Carson, Peyton, Rylee, David, Weston, Charlee, Zachary, and Hudson; and brother, Timothy Chatagnier.
