Born in Orange, Texas, on June 22, 1949, he was the son of Lawrence Andrew Wiggins, Sr., and Loretta (Arledge) Wiggins. L.A. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He served proudly in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1971 as a Navy marine mechanic. His last assignment was with the U.S. Naval Support Activity in Saigon. After returning home he worked for Owens-Illinois, H & E Automotive and DuPont in Pasadena, Texas, from there he worked as a truthful and very honest car salesman for about 20 years. His final career was with Hughes Security Services where he retired in 2011.

L.A. enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a very avid John Wayne fan adopting his favorite saying “A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do”. He also enjoyed reuniting and camping with his fellow Vietnam veteran buddies and the many trips he took with his wife Charlene, especially their cruise to Alaska. He was an active member of the Cowboy Church in Orange, Texas which he loved attending until the time he became too ill to attend.

One of L.A.’s proudest accomplishments was serving his country in the U.S. Navy and will be buried with full military honors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Wiggins, Sr., and Loretta (Arledge) Wiggins; and daughter, Kinta Wiggins Berlinger; his sister, Belinda Phillips; and father in law Harry E. Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Charlene Wiggins of Mauriceville; daughters, Kelli K. Wiggins of Orange, Marlene Batres and husband Mario of Alvin, and Tricia Capps of Mauriceville; sons, Charles Capps of Mauriceville, and Kevin Wiggins and wife Misty of Bridge City; 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Wiggins of Hemphill; and sister, Dawanna Kibodeaux of Buna.
