Judith Mary Dickey Eatman

Judith Eatman, 77, of Orange, surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 29, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with Reverend Randy Branch officiating. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Brownwood, Texas on August 3, 1940, Judith was the daughter of Mary June Brinkley Dickey and Howard Delbert Dickey.

She married the love of her life, Jerry Leon Eatman on April 25, 1958. Judith was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and always had time to offer a willing smile, a listening ear, and a soft lap to her grandchildren.

Judith started her career at Orange National Bank as a bank teller at the age of sixteen. She worked as a clerk for Orange County Judge Claude Wimberly from 1980 to 1989. She became the Orange County Treasurer in 1989 until her retirement in 1991.

Judith leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 59 years, Jerry Eatman; one son, Rowdy Lynn Eatman and wife Brenda of Lumberton; daughter, JoLayne Bourque and fiancé Jimmy Smith, Jr. of Orange; five granddaughters, Cally Jo Scales of Orange, Lauren Eatman of Dallas, Jessica Eatman of Spring, Jacey Bourque of Orange and Sarah Smith of Lumberton; two grandsons, Zack Bourque of Orange and Sean Smith of Lumberton. She also leaves behind a brother, Michael Dickey and wife Sandra of Orange; sister, Carolyn Cloud Reed and husband Kenneth of Whitehouse, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As well as her parents, Judith is preceded in death by her grandparents, Grady and Gerda Brinkley; sister, Sandra Dell Jones; and stepfather, Herman Cloud.

Judith is now together with her best friend Charlene Rue Wallace, shopping in heaven.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rowdy Eatman, Zack Bourque, Jimmy D. Smith, Jr., Kenny Reed, Paul Guidry and Casey Reed.
