Jerry Edward Berry, 96, of Orange, Texas, passed away on May 24, 2017, in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Sandy Hook, Mississippi, on March 20, 1921, Jerry was the son of John and Elizabeth Berry. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. Jerry enjoyed history, especially Civil War and WWII. He taught history, math, and distributive education at Little Cypress- Mauriceville High School. He liked to spend his spare time fishing and refinishing old wooden boats. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Betty Berry; and 9 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his children, Stephanie Oglesby and husband David, of Spokane, WA, Dawn Berger and husband Joel, of Liberty, Ed Berry and wife Connie, of Orange, and Charmaine Berry, of Orange; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
