Chad McGee

Charles “Chad” Don McGee II, 39, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2014 at the Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Chad was born September 30, 1974. He graduated from West Orange Stark in 1993 and graduated from Lamar University with a Communications degree and later received his teaching degree in Special Education.

Up until the time of his death, he was a teacher at Vidor Independent School district and a former coach for several other school districts.

Chad fought a long hard battle with Cystic Fibrosis all his life, but never let the disease stop him from achieving his goals.

Chad was a devoted father to his son, Landon and loved the Texas Longhorns and the sport of Baseball.

The family would like to thank his doctors and nurses at Houston Methodist Hospital and Father Dominic Pistone, Catholic Chaplain at Methodist Hospital.

Visitation will be at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange on Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 12:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orange with Father Joseph P. Daleo serving as celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannie Romano McGee; and his grandparents, Dominic and Isabell Romano and B.R. and Zelma McGee.

Chad is survived by his son, Landon Joseph McGee; sister and brother-in-law, Lorri and Brooks Bonin; two nieces, Ashton and Madison Bonin; and great uncles and aunts, Carlo and Mike Romano, and Joe and Rosalie Romano.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Marie and Frank Zeto, Rosalie and Ray Daves, Theresa and Tom Foster, Donna Catherine and John Chu, Johnnie Stephanie and Charles Magliolo, Angie Romano, and Glenda Wiley.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Ray Daves, Eric Foshee, Nick Foshee, Joe Romano, Chad Porterfield, and Brian Waguespack, with Landon Joseph McGee as Honorary Pallbearer.
