Barry Allen Hunt

Barry Hunt, 72, of Orange, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, TX. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born on May, 18 1941, he was the son of Carl Benson Hunt and Rosalie Snell Hunt. Barry was a Vietnam Veteran who received a Purple Heart after serving in the Army during the war. He was on the Little Cypress Volunteer Fire Department board of directors, member of the First United Methodist Church, and also a member of the Orange VFW. Barry lived for his children and grandchildren and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Rosalie Snell Hunt.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years Judy Sackett Hunt, of Orange; daughter Kristy Monceaux and husband Jerald, of Orange; son Michael Hunt and fiancée Lauren Allen of Orange; grandchildren Blake Hunt, Kaitlynn Hunt, Mason Monceaux, and Marcus Monceaux, and great-grandson Peyton Hunt.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Trahan, Joe Parkhurst, Roland Guillot, Jerald Monceaux, Michael Hunt, and Blake Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 755 S 11th St. # 212, Beaumont, TX 77701.
